Tuesday, Dec. 9 (Day 1)
It was such a shock to get off the airplane to the WARMTH and humidity of Mexico. The first thing I wanted to do was change into some more climate appropriate clothing (but I wasn't complaining).
~
Mick and I were also pretty tired, so we kept things simple that first afternoon/night. Chad took us to the Malacon. Which is kind of like a "boardwalk" along the ocean. It was very busy, crowded, and festive because we arrived in Puerto Vallarta in the middle of the weeklong "Fiesta de Guadalupe, Reina (queen) de México." From December 6 until December 12th, Mexicans celebrate the miracle of the Virgin Guadalupe's appearance in 1531. It's a huge celebration with people partying until 3am until the morning. With Chad's place being on the hill, the music would carry right up into his house. It was a lot to get used to.
Wednesday, Dec. 10 (Day 2)
Our first morning there, Mick and Chad played tennis (Chad is a member at the John Mcenroe tennis courts) and I chose to stay at Chad's house reading and enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery (and take advantage of an empty house to shower).
~
When they finally got back (they said they'd only be gone for 1 hour, but it ended up being almost 4 hours), we put on our bathing suits and headed to Los Meurtos to sunbath on the beach. Mick and I got henna tattoos, Mick bought me a sarong (sp?), and we bought grilled swordfish on a stick from Manuel (a VERY friendly guy). That was probably the most touristy thing we did while we were in Mexico.
~
After we were toasty (and me sunburned), Chad took us on a walking tour of Puerto Vallarta. He showed us places where famous people once lived and partied, where movies were made, we went into a VERY FANCY restaraunt so he could show us their incredible bathrooms
(yah, Chad's not shy and his charm can convince people into letting us do just about anything), we had drinks all by ourselves on the top of a closed restaraunt overlooking Puerto Vallarta. We think we walked about 7 miles that night and I of course didn't bring my camera because I thought we were just going to the beach...DANGIT!

More to come...

I can't believe that you forgot your camera! Sounds like it was a great first couple of days. Just to be away without kids and on a beach in Mexico, sounds wonderful!
It really does sound wonderful. I always seem to forget my camera as well. Hopefully, you learned your lesson and we get to see pics of the rest of your trip soon;) Just for you, I was a party pooper on my trip. It wasn't perfect, thanks to me, but I got over my mood swing by the time the pictures were taken.
Camera Camera Camera Jodi!
7 miles is a outing! I'll remember to take my walking shoes :)
Even though I don't know Chad, I'm very fond of him and his lifestyle. The warm sun is sounding really nice right about NOW.
I've enjoyed reading about your trip and can't wait for more. How fun, I'm so envious!
You live a rough life there, Jodi. I will call you.
Jodi!!! You never ever leave without the camera!!!!
I LOVE my sarongs. Mine that I got in Hawaii had worn out so I had my mom pick me up two the last time she went. I live in them when we go swimming!
I WANT to go somewhere warm, romantic and free of chaos!
