We woke up early this morning to go on a Canopy Los Veranos Tour. Yes, I went zip lining again. This time in the Mexican "jungle." It was beautiful!!
Here's Mick flying through the trees...
We had fun hanging back with the tour guides and they talked us into trying some daring things. Here's Mick upside down with one of the guides...
Here's me flying through the trees.
Now here's me upside down with one of the guides...
Yes, I dared to go upside down...
I even went upside down WITHOUT a guide. All by myself. I was pretty proud - it was so intense and fun! Here's a picture of Mick, me, and Chad after the tour. Notice how red and hot I look.
After we took off all of our zip lining gear, we hiked over to a restaraunt called "Chico's Paradise." It was was kind of like a treehouse restaraunt with beautiful views all around. It was just out in the open and part of nature. They have some local teenagers that dive off the tall rock (in the picture below) into the water below the waterfall. It was crazy and terrifying. I totally had one boy videotaped and accidentally deleted it - DANGIT! I was sooooo mad at myself. In fact, I'm still not over it.
Aren't the views beautiful?
After we ate, we put on our bathing suits and Chad took us down to the river where the waterfall was. And Chad, Mick, and I "rode" down the waterfall. Here's Mick...It has a short little dip and then the momentum takes you down the waterfall. It was so much fun (and cold)! Mick and I had to do it a few times. It's not a very flattering picture of me, but it's the only proof we have of me doing it.
Then we climbed out and sunbathed on the big rock below the waterfall. It was peaceful and beautiful!
After we had our fun at Chico's Paradise, we hitch hiked back to Boca Tomatlan and then rode the bus back to Puerto Vallarta. ~
After we showered, Mick and I went downtown by ourselves. We went to Pipi's Restaraunt for dinner - it was more of an American-style Mexican restaurant. Then we walked around the Malacon and got some ice cream - which was the perfect ending to an exciting day.
~
More to come...

This is just so awesome. I love that you went upside-down all by yourself. You are such a dare devil. That water slide looks like it was so much fun. Whne you mention all of this yummy food, it's making me hungry. This is my favorite day so far! :)
I can't believe the amount of fun you had on this trip! I can't believe there's still more to come! I don't think there's anyway I could be talked into ziplining upside down. You crazy! :) Glad you had so much fun while it was snowing blizzards over here!
OMGsh!!! UN-BElievABLE!!! that would be amazing. i would've been all over that zip-line! your my kinda girl all ballsy and stuff. that sounded weird but i'm hoping you understood what i meant. ;)
fun fun! i'm digging the whole smooth rock/natural slide thing! lucky lady. =) i have adored frogs for decades! all through high school i had quite the collection of frog everything. our wedding was all green & frogs! lol. people thought i was NUTS! yeah, daisies are my fav along with tulips. i heart simple. simple just uplifts me. does that make sense? daisy therefore got her name thanks to the rocking awesome little flower that quietly speaks volumes! hahaha...that's awesome, especially after the realization of mick's permy wave hair. for some reason i was thinking that pic was of one of your boys. you're completely right, i'd swear that frog's a smiling! you know why else frogs rock? cause frog stands for Fully Rely On God. it gets me through a lot. your comments made me smile. and you're always welcome. i loved every word of your talk. i'll always be there for ya if you ever have to speak again. =) have a lovely evening with your family.
p.s. when i was looking at stacks & stacks of baby name books, for some reason i was thinking daisy was gonna be (get this) "kimberly michelle" (soooo not original)! ok, in my defense, i was all hormonal at the time, not thinking straight, and plum out of creativity. i was way more than tired and just DONE searching for the perfect name. so i jotted the cookie-cutter name down, and went to bed. it didn't sit well with me all night. tossed & turned, and was miserable. next day got up, went to my classes, and while i was quietly sitting in seminary (i know, but i really wasn't a bad kid, it was just not ideal timing) when out of the blue "daisy janae" came slamming into my brain! kid you not. that night i dug out the books again and looked it up. daisy is gaelic (sp?), it literally means "the day's eye" which is in reference to the sun. janae is derivative of jane which is God is gracious. so i figured she was definitely a gift from God and would be the center of my universe, so it stuck! lol. her dad wasn't adamant that he would not have a kid with a hippy name like daisy and he begged me to change my mind. i didn't budge, so he swore he'd always call her DJ. funny? he's NEVER called her DJ in her whole life! she'll always be both her daddies' precious little daisy! ok, so that's the saga. sorry so long. have a nice night! :0)
You totally kick butt! You are so freakin adventurous. I have loved reading about this vacation, and I can't wait to read more, I can't even imagine what else there was left to do! But make no mistake, I am still beyond jealous!
lol. that's awesome. your nickname rocked! my mom always called me a toad, so when people asked at our wedding why frogs, i said it was perfect since we were both a couple of toads. =) even my cake topper was a frog couple kissing (he has a top hat and she is holding a daisy). for our parting gifts we gave out boxes of tapioca pudding and recipes for frog-eye salad! lol. i think you and i were destined to be friends, heehee! i've only ever met one other person who likes frogs as much as us. too fun. i'm glad we have that in common. =)
I can't believe you got to go on a zip line AGAIN! Lucky girl.
Those rocks and water are gorgeous. Ever since I was a little girl and watched Swiss Family Robinson I have always wanted to slide down a smooth rock waterfall!
You are so brave! I bet your boys are proud of having such a fun mom.
To say that I am jealous of your amazing trip would be a huge understatement! I mean I am JEALOUS!
What a beautiful place. I'm happy for you that you got to go. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.
P.S.
I read your comment about falling down in the Target parking lot. That is awful! Were you hurt?
Oh what an amazing trip. If you ever get invitied back and Mick can't go - I speak Spanish and I would be more than happy to accompany you:)
I love the pics! I am glad you guys were able to take that trip and have so much fun, you are both so brave to zip- line upside down! :)
I just read all about your trip for the first time. It all looks so amazing! Rob would say, "Now that's what I'm talking about." That is a true vacation. It's nice to have it so documented so you can remember it forever.
