FOR TODAY - 4/20/09

Outside my window...I see my boys enjoying the beautiful weather, jumping on the trampoline

I am thinking...I should be making dinner right now

I am thankful for...husbands who are willing to cook

From the kitchen...I smell corndogs

I am wearing...my workout clothes - still

I am creating...a new budget online and hoping it helps

I am going...to return a movie to Redbox (late)

I am reading...all the kindergarten registration information for Bennett next year

I am hoping...the weather stays beautiful like this

I am hearing...my kids laughing and playing well together

Around the house...I'm thinking of what I want to yard sale this weekend

One of my favorite things...right now it's Nibbles, our new dwarf hamster - he's so cute

A few plans for the rest of the week:
- schedule Bennett for his school shots
- deep clean the house
- get things ready for my yard sale Friday? and Saturday
- get more organized
- spend more time with the kids
- set up a menu plan

Here is picture I am sharing...

It's a BOY!

We have a new addition to our family - and wouldn't you know it, it's Another boy. He's a Dalmation Dwarf Hamster and the boys named him Nibbles.
Isn't he the cutest? The boys already love him. I hope he's as happy with us as we are with him.

Jake's Baptism

Jake was so excited to be baptized. Probably the most excited I've seen anybody. He was counting the days. Here he is before we left to the church...look at that smile.
When Mick pulled him out of the water, he turned to the kids sitting around the font and just beamed at them.
~
He was baptized with Kennedy McClure, from our Ward. Her mom was teasing them that they'll probably get married in 15 years. Maybe that's why on Sunday when they called them both up front to sit, Jake left an empty chair in between them. I thought it was pretty funny.Later that night Jake told me he felt warm inside and I asked him if he knew why and he said it was because he has the Holy Ghost now. And in his prayers that night he thanked Heavenly Father for that gift.

Mick's Grandpa passed away this weekend, so there has been a lot of emotions at our house. He passed away the night before Jake's baptism, but we waited until after Easter to tell the kids. I don't know how much they truly understand the concept of death, but they do know they won't get to see Great Grandpa Mac on earth anymore. My sweet Kyle tonight while saying his prayers broke down in tears. (It probably didn't help that we watched "Marley & Me" tonight and I was bawling at the end.) Kyle and I shared a long hug and cried together. It was very touching for me to see him let go of his emotions and it was a special moment for us.

Davis is ELEVEN!

I can't believe my (first) "baby" is 11-years old. They seriously grow up way too fast.
At least he still has those squishy cheeks. ;)
For his birthday, he invited some friends over for a party and they had a great time. They played some games outside and just had fun hanging out.
Happy Birthday Davis!
The day after his birthday, I took Davis to Spokane for the post-op appointment with the surgeon. The surgeon cleaned out the rest of the packing and dry blood and said everything looks great. Davis was glad that we scheduled the appointment after his birthday because it was a little painful for him. The surgeon also said he likes to wait until two months after surgery to do a hearing test. So, it looks like we have one more trip. He did do the metal vibrating thingy (I don't know the technical term) and held it to his head and outside of his ear to see which he could hear louder. And this time he could hear it better outside of his ear. That means he's hearing through his ear now. YAY!

SPRING

I love green grass!! Mick's amazing with our yard...it's already green.

Last night Mick called Jake into the living room to "practice." You could tell Jake had no idea what Mick was talking about, but listened to him anyway. Then Mick grabbed a hold of Jake's wrist and placed Jake's other hand on Mick's arm and you could just see the recognition in Jake's face and he just LIT UP with the BIGGEST smile. Jake is so excited to be baptized Saturday. He came home from school today saying, "Only two more days!!"

OUCH!

I played volleyball for the first time in a long time last week and my arms were one big bruise by the end of the night. The bruises kept spreading and getting bigger as the days went on. But I was back the next night of volleyball with no bruises to report. Yay!
