Mowing Lessons

Mick has decided that Davis is finally old enough to mow our lawn. Which is HUGE considering how Mick is about "his" lawn (he barely lets me mow the lawn). I, on the other hand, wasn't too sure about this milestone for Davis considering how accident prone he is. A lawn mower can be a very dangerous thing. But knowing Mick and how precise he likes his lawn - I knew he'd be right by his side.

Mick giving Davis direction. Mick inspecting Davis's work.

All in all, Davis did a great job and I'm sure will have a lot more "opportunities" to mow the lawn from now on. And he only came in with a blister. Not too bad for him!!

SCARE

Today has been one of those days for Davis. He seems to be having a lot of them this summer. His broken nose, falling into a picnic table while playing frisbee, etc. Tonight he was eating a hot dog while crying and all of the sudden started choking. I looked over at him and his whole face and lips were blue/purple. I've never seen anything like it. I went over to him and did the Heimlich maneuver on him and it popped out. It was so scary and I was totally shaking. I'm so thankful it only took one try. His brothers looked at him and said they thought he was going to die. He's doing fine now, he just has a sore throat. Does anyone have any bubble tape to wrap him in? I'm scared of what will happen next.

Awwwww...

I just had to share. Davis, Kyle, and Jake are spending the night at their cousins tonight and Bennett came over to me and said, "Mom, I'm sad. I miss my brothers at my cousins." I thought it was so sweet. Now I wish they'd start appreciating eachother when they're together... :)
*Just to clarify, this picture was taken during a family water fight. I just thought it was a fitting picture for his mood tonight.

Memory

I got this from Jennifer's blog...

Here is a fun little game... leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time or a long time, anything that you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It is pretty funny to read the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you are playing and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. On your mark... get set... blog those memories!

4th of July Celebration

A 4th of July tradition on my side of the family is to meet by the TRAC in the early evening and play Bocce, baseball, frisbee, eat, etc. while we wait for the fireworks to start. This year we went to the softball side of the TRAC to try something a little different and the first thing Davis said was, "What about family tradition?" I'm happy to know that tradition is already important to my kids. And I think next year we'll be back on the soccer field side...

Bennett, Kyle, Davis, and Jake

I think this picture says it all. Bennett STILL doesn't like fireworks.
Kyle Looking cool.. My sister's family came for the 4th of July celebration and four of her kids are my boys ages, so needless to say, they always seem to "pair off." Bennett and cousin Isaac...
Kyle and cousin Brooke hanging out - just chillin'.
Davis and cousin Carly watching fireworks together.
Jake and cousin Macey watching the fireworks together.
Hope everyone had a great Independence Day!!!

HOMEMADE PIZZA

I wanted an excuse to blog with pictures from my new camera (YES! It arrived today!). So, I thought having the most handsome helpers making homemade pizza with me is just the reason I needed. Jake and Bennett were so excited to get their aprons out and help me in the kitchen.

There's nothing better than getting your hands in the dough....I LOVE kneading! 2 handsome helpers + 4 helpful hands = DELICIOUS PIZZA
