Have you ever been "mistaken" for someone else? People always seem to think they know me from somewhere... I don't know if that means I'm plain or ordinary looking or what, but it finally paid off Friday night. Mick and I decided to try out...
(next to P.F. Chang's)
When we got out of the car, a man starts walking over to me in the parking lot. He gets within 5 feet of me and says, "Oh, I thought you were someone else. You look just like someone I work with. You have the same hair and everything." I go on to tell him that I get that all the time from people and we just sort of small talked on our way to the restraunt. The door greeter assumed that we were with eachother and when they realized that we weren't, one greeter took this man's party of four and explains how the night's going to work and another greeter starts telling Mick and I that the restraunt doesn't open until Monday and we could come back then. He explains to us that they were doing a practice run with the employee's friends and family - which included a FREE meal (drink, dinner, and dessert) for anyone that was invited. This VERY KIND AND THOUGHTFUL man overheard them telling us we'd have to come back and stretched his arm back and handed me an invitation. Next thing I knew we were being shuttled in and treated to a DELICIOUS FREE meal! All because this man took time to notice us. It's so nice to know that there are still people out there like this man. He didn't have to do it - he just did. Mick and I (and our stomachs) thanked this man over an over again!!

Luke would die if he read this! That is his all time favorite resturant, everytime he goes to Seattle that is his first stop!! He can't wait until it opens and even suggested I get a job there (right) so I could bring him home food every night!!
Jeff and I can't wait to try this place! I knew we should have hooked up with you that night! You're so lucky to get a free, delicious meal! That's so nice of that man to give you an invite.
No fair Jodi. Lucky. I know what you mean about people knowing who you are. Its a weird feeling isn't it.
I love this place too. It should be a hit.
Can I just say that you are one of the sweetest. I see you and Elaine and it makes me want to cry. You are the nicest. Love Ya.
Seriously, that is so cool! How nice of that guy to have you along for the party. One thing I love about you Jodi, is that you always are so nice and genuine to everyone. I think you can carry on a conversation with ANYBODY. Glad you got a free meal. Now we need to have a date night!
That's too funny Jessica (or should I say "Famous Jessica" - that's what the waitresses and everyone refers to themselves there). We had never been there and were excited to try it out. We both got combo meals to try more foods - our bill would've been around $50!
Kim - you guys should've totally hooked up with us. I don't think there was a limit to your group size - someone just needed the invite. Were you able to get a babysitter?
Jan - your comment really touched me...thanks! I love working with Alaine, she's so cute!! And she thinks I'm funny. ;)
Kristen - Between yours and Jan's comments, I'm feeling pretty special and very thankful for great friends! Thanks!! And a definate yes on the double date! Mick and I are ALWAYS trying to find other couples to come out with us. We love the weekends!
Wow, what a cool story! If it makes you feel any better, I am one of those people that always thinks someone looks familiar, and I didn't think that with you at all. In fact, I'd heard your name so much before I met you, I figured once I met you you'd be someone I'd seen around, but you didn't look familiar at all. Along those same lines, I feel like such an idiot. I think I realized why Mick looked so familiar to me when I met him...your picture on your blog!! Duh.
Yea! I was thinking of you Friday night while I was at Outback. Happy to hear you got some good stuff somewhere else too.
That's amazing. You were in the right place at the right time. Where is this restaurant? The thoughtfulness of others inspires me.
I'm echoing Jan's words, Alaine needs you and I love to watch you also. If you feel eyes on you in primary, it's probably me.
Wow, how lucky are you! You should call me the next time you go to dinner :) Did you get to have a yard sale? If you did I hope it went well. Ours was Saturday only (to answer your question late)
That is so cool Jodi! It pays to have a recognizable face :)
Those are the best surprises! You must have paid your tithing! :) Sounds too fun and yummy!
Jodi I only heard the last part of your story last night and it is even better now that I heard the whole thing! I second the comment's by Debie and Jan. I was surprised that Alaine didn't come give her weekly loves to Branson on Sunday. Maybe it was because we saw her when she was at work at Goodwill and she kissed on him then.
good for you! you are living right! AND, you truly are easy to talk to and inviting to talk to.
i get comments like this too, usually from my patients. it always makes me wonder who else is out there that looks like me? funny and a little strange at times.
What did you order? I can't wait to go try it out!
Sweeeeet deal! I hope you enjoyed the meal, we've been thinking of trying it out.
How fun, that the Tri-Cities has a Famous Dave's. We've got one here in Salt Lake City and I used to go there often when I worked close by one... now I haven't been in a couple years. Yummy bbq....mmmmmm....
So cool you got a free meal!
