VACATION - Day 6 (and what I got to do)...

Hopefully I didn't go overboard with the "suspense" of what I got to do on our vacation. I started thinking about it and what if you're all like, "That's it??" "She made us wait for that?" Well, the real reason behind the "suspense" is I was hoping for someone to email me pictures and video of me before I did the post - but I don't want to wait anymore. I'm too excited! You'll just have to click on the link to see pictures of me doing what I did...
I went on a Tamarack Zipline Tour!!!
This is what the brochure says about the tour: "Explore the mountain in a unique, thrilling, action packed, Zipline tour. Experience the rush and listen to the cable sing as we guide you over 4,425 feet of incredible terrain. We'll send you down 8 different ziplines, soaring over creeks, canyons, and forest as you come to rest on a platform high above the ground in a majestic ponderosa pine. This incredible tour gives you a bird’s eye view of the surrounding mountains, meadows, lakes and forest. We give you the opportunity to fly by a cable, in a tour full of adrenalin and adventure through Tamarack’s rugged mountain terrain. Fly from your comfort zone and try it because going against all those primitive reflexes and rationales is exactly what make this adrenaline rush rock!"
I LOVED IT!!!
I was really nervous and tried calling the church in McCall to find a babysitter so Mick could go with me (he really wanted to go), but their phone was busy the whole time. So, I headed out by myself Thursday (day 6) and was hoping there would be another loner in my group that I could hook up with. But, no - the rest of my group was all family (2 men, 2 teenage boys, 3 teenage girls, and a 9-year old boy). Which made me even more nervous because none of them looked nervous at all! But they ended up being really nice and "adopted" me as they put it and even took pictures and videos of me with their cameras. It was soooooo much fun! I totally want to do it again!
And just a little "bragging" - I was the first one to go on the highest, longest zipline AND I jumped backwards out of the treehouse zipline (which they say is the scariest of all 8) and the guide told me he had never seen a girl jump backwards off of it. I told them I'd do anything to have a good story to tell my boys. I did scream on the zipline that went 50 mph - to me that one was the scariest. Anyway, here is the link to look at pictures. I'm pictures 1-3 and 96-101. http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/orderpage.aspx?pi=0KLU00JV000000&po=0
*Warning: the pictures are NOT flattering

I clicked on your name from a comment you left on Jan's blog. You are also in pics 97-102!! I think that is so awesome that you did this. I want to also. I think it is the next best thing to bungee jumping. I also know when you get on one of these to ensure that your hair is tightly tied back. So, it doesn't get caught in the zip line.

Oh my gosh! You are a brave girl! Looks like so much fun! Are you ordering any pictures?! I love the last one, #101! You need a copy of that one!

I love all these beautiful pictures from your trip! The scenery is breathtaking! So glad you had a great time and you're telling us all the details.

Jodi, I would have loved to go and be your partner! It takes a lot more guts to go it alone...I am so impressed. Those pictures are really neat. Your boys must think you are a total stud mom.

Very, very cool. I don't know if I could have done that. I love pic. 101 also.

You're a dare devil in my book!!

You are a rock star! I love that you do stuff like that for your boys. They seriously must think you're the coolest mom ever. And I am so impressed you did it alone. I would have chickened out if my hubby couldn't do it with me. You are my new hero.

You are INSANE! That was totally worthy of the build up! And to have pictures to prove it! Seriously, that is one of the most awesome things I have ever seen someone do on vacation! Seriously, I am in awe!

I have loved all your coverage of your vacation. The pictures are beautiful! But this....wow, you are crazy! Ha ha--I'm totally impressed. I'd probably talk it up in my head and go to the first platform and chicken out (just ask Matt about my experiences rapelling). And there is NO WAY I would do it alone. You definitely get the awesome Mom award! Way to go!

Just reading this post gave me my fill of adrenaline for awhile. You are a gutsy girl! And I agree, doing this alone was very brave.

I wish you ALL could have come with me. I think that's what scared me the most was going by myself. Thank goodness the family that was on the tour with me was really nice and I just forced myself into their little group. :) And Mother Goose - they said the reason behind the helmets we had to wear was for the reason you said -- hair can get caught in the zipline and you don't want that!! And I ordered picture #1 - I didn't like how picture #101 squished out my stomach! UGH!

So cool, Jodi!! You *know* I would've been right there with you on that thrill ride!! For my 32nd birthday, I was in Queenstown, New Zealand and I totally went bungi jumping - without hesitation! It was incredible! I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Good for you for not letting anything stop you from seeking that thrill!!!

Way to go Jodi. How fun. It looks like your vacation was so much fun. I'm so glad that you are back in town. I need to call you and catch up. I've totally missed hanging out with you. I would like to know where you stayed and etc. It sounds like the trip was a blast.

Jodi! The pictures totally don't work for me, I've tried a million times and it won't let me scroll through them, so disappointing! Crazy cool thing you were brave enough to do...I am such a chicken! I'll try to look at the pics next time I'm at Rachaels.

About how long did it take?

I am so scared just looking at those. You are X-tremely brave. I don't like heights. How in the world did you not lose it?

I am so proud of you though. Once again you looked so cool up there. And the view was killer. I bet you could see so much. That might have gotten me up there.

The pictures were totally flattering by the way. Your so stinkin hot. Way to roll girl.

Jodi,

I love Tamarack! We went skiing and tubing there this winter and we fell in love with it, we are going in July, they run biking up the chair lifts during the summer so we will be checking that out. I saw the Zip line tour and thought that would be fun too! Looks like you had a great time. McCall is a cute little town and I can't wait to check out how pretty it is not covered in 3 feet of snow!

I haven't looked at your blog for awhile, so it was a great surprise to read about your vacation to McCall.
I know McCall very well! We used to have a cabin there. I love McCall! I've camped several times at Ponderosa as well. It is a beautiful place. McCall has changed so much though. When I was younger it wasn't as popular as it is today.
The zipline looks awesome! I'd love to do that!!

Totally fun! I'm heading up to Cascade tomorrow morning for our annual family reunion. The one thing I have had on my "To Do" list for the last 2 years is to try zip line! I think I'll follow your lead!

How fun that you were in our side of the mountain. My grandpa has a cabin up there and we have headed that way for as long as I can remember. My next door neighbors just did the zipline a couple of weeks ago. This world is a small place. I am glad that you found my blog. Bryn
