YOUR TRASH MAY BE MY TREASURE

As some of you may know - I LOVE going to yard sales and thrift stores! After being inspired by her post, I decided to post some of my favorite finds. I think I got a little carried away - it's a little long (and I could have added a lot more). Bear with me... I just get so excited about it all!!
I found this great coffee table at a yard sale ($25) this weekend - now I need to decide what color to re-do it in. Any ideas? I love the lines on the top - it's hard to see them in this picture.
These are some of my most recent finds. I found the scale at a yard sale and the antique kitchen utensils at the Richland Goodwill.
I found this great table ($6) at the old Kennewick St. Vincent and painted and distressed it. I found the chair ($10) and the lamp ($3) at yard sales.
I love this! I bought it at a yard sale and painted it and distressed it. (Anyone remember it at Becky Muir's house before she moved? It was green.)
I found this recently at a yard sale ($25) - I'm picturing painting it white (distressed - of course) and putting chicken coop wire in the openings of the doors and changing the knobs. Think it'll be really cute!
I paid more for this at a yard sale than I usually would ($35) because I knew I wanted it for a coffee table and figured I'd probably spend that much on a "real" one.
This table was $3 at a yard sale (I painted it and distressed it). The canisters and clock I found at a yard sale (I can't remember how much) and I found the candle holders at the Pasco Goodwill for $1 each.
I found this trunk at the Richland Goodwill for $6 and the crate at a yard sale for $.75 and painted and distressed it.
I got this at a yard sale for $3 and painted and distressed it. Great place to store the kids coloring books, notebooks, and supplies.
I bought the little suitcase for $3 at a yard sale and the big suitcase for $5 at Richland Goodwill.
I bought this table at St. Vincent in Kennewick ($6) and painted and distressed it and the suitcase at a yard sale ($8).
I love chairs. I got this one at a yard sale for $10.
I bought this chair at Goodwill ($6) and painted and distressed it.
I found the chair ($5) - it used to be in better shape, the neighbor kids like to pick at the leather and lantern ($8) at a yard sale. I got the milk can from St. Vincent in Pasco.
This chair was free at a yard sale and I bought the pail at a Utah DI for $5 and the wreath for $1.
Phew! We're done with my little show-and-tell. I seriously love finding things and decorating the house for cheap. I can't wait until Fridays come around to hit the yard sales!! Anybody have anything they want to sell me?? :)

Jodi, when are you opening up shop. Seriously. This is what good finds are for. You get to shop all day and then make moolah. You could so do it. Those are all so awesome. When you decide to do that let me know okay. We need some seriously good stores in Pasco. Terrific goods for sure.

And yes your boys on the bugs. I forgot you had boys. ;) Now that would be funny huh....

I would love to have a store and a shop to do my work in!! If only I had a lot of money to pay for rent somewhere...Dreams! Thanks for thinking I could do it Jan! :) And I seriously will have to set up a "date" to bring my boys over to see those antlions. They'll think it's the coolest!! Thanks!

Jodi...I am in awe with all that you have found. Isn't it so much fun...it's a treasure hunt. It's almost dissapointing when your house is full and you have nothing else you need. I love all your tables and chairs and cabinets! I did not know you were so into refurnishing furniture, you do an amazing job.

so much fun! I love it!!

I'm almost ready to do a little of this myself, as soon as our family room is finsihed. I would love to find some great things to furnish it with. You've inspired me.

WOW! Who knew?! You've got some talent and a great eye! I would pass by half of this stuff and not think twice about it. You've done a great job with it all! I love it!

You weren't kidding when you said that you made a LONG post today! I love all the stuff in your house. I thought of you and Becky this weekend when we drove past 2 HUGE antique stores on the way home from Leavenworth. We didn't stop, but I told Jack that if I was with you and Becky we'd spend at least 2 hours in each store! :)

Mara - is your yard sale on Friday too? Because I'm planning on having one Saturday too. :) Is it supposed to rain?

That is so amazing! I am also the type that goes into thrift stores and antique stores and looks around and thinks, "Is this stuff a 'great find' or is it just crap?" I never know. But I am so impressed by people like you that find the "great finds" and refurnish them. You got skills! (How do you fit all that furniture in your house?!)

you are talented beyond measure. AND you have great timing, finding all of these treasures. you should open up shop, which would require you to travel all over to fill this shop with delightful items...doesn't that sound adventurous?

It was fun getting to meet you at Bunco the other night!
I love all your finds! I would love to know what paint you use for your black and cream?
Let me know

It was great getting to know you too Kristen! And as far as the paint I use - I just get cheap ol' Walmart paint (flat interior). And the black is just black and the cream is brown sugar (don't know why they call it that - it's so light).

Your stuff is so flippin' cute! Makes me want to start thrift store shopping again...I'm just not good at the whole re-finishing part. I start it but never seem to get all the way done. I LOVE the cream cabinet with the 5 doors!

Wow, Jodi, seriously, I had NO idea you were into this. What a fun hobby!! When I moved into my new place last summer I was all gung-ho about getting into stuff like this. I bought a little sander and some paint and watched the ads on craigslist and ksl.com's classifieds. I *did* get a jewelry cabinet, but I never got around to painting it. I finally took it to someone who does what you do and I paid them $35 to paint it black for me!! I guess I lost steam after painting most of my house. Plus, I'm not really a "morning" person for yard sales, but the online thing works great too!
Great job with the creativity, Jodi!!
