After a LONG drive Saturday - we finally made it to McCall, Idaho. It ended up being longer than we were planning because we got stuck behind a Sherrif that for some reason wouldn't pass the slow truck in front of him and we didn't know if we were "allowed" to pass two cars at once. So, it was slow and long. And then it seemed even longer because I forgot the battery to our portable t.v. and someone took apart our cord that plugs into the lighter. Aaaaah! I even bought new movies to keep the kids attention better. Their MP3 players and Gameboys kept them preoccupied for awhile, but the movies would have been nice. We tried the old school travel games that we all used to play, but when there's four boys side by side - tensions seem to rise. You know, "He's touching me"..."He's looking at me"..."I'm hungry"..."Are we there yet?" But we finally made it to our condo unharmed (barely - Mick stopped a couple of times for some "disciplining").
Sunday we went on a couple of hikes at Ponderosa State Park. The first hike was to an outlook point. The boys got a little close to the edge for me to look out.
Then they saw some flowers that they wanted to pick for their Mom. :)
This is one of my favorite pictures of my favorite boys on our trip. Maybe Christmas card material (am I thinking too far ahead?).
The views were beautiful! The boys seemed to enjoy it - but Jake was really scared because there was a sign at the entrance saying to watch out for bears (so Jake and I held hands the whole time - except when I was taking pictures). Our second hike was around marsh land. It was my kind of hike - mostly flat.
We saw lots of birds and ants on our hike, but as we were driving out of the park - Mick spotted a deer. We stopped to video and take pictures and then we noticed there were two fawns and two mama deer. We were able to video one of the fawns nursing. It was cool!

O.K. you're killing me! What did you do? I NEED TO KNOW!
Oh, and thanks for yelling at the people that were looking at our house that it is haunted. I think it worked;)
Don't you just love blogging! It is especially nice to read about you and your family since we are so far away and don't hear "updates" often enough! I too am dying to find out what you did during your vacation.
Oh, I lost weight the good old fashion way...starving myself and exercising during any free minute I had (which means waking up before the kids). Honestly, I really don't know how long I will stay like this. As much as I like to look better, food is my friend and I am much happier when I can eat. Meh, guess we will see.
Do you sell any of your crafts? You are AMAZING at that kind of stuff!
Oh my--I had forgotten how beautiful Lake Ponderosa is. So fun--it looks like a fun trip.
Your doing a great job of making us all extremely jealous today. I have enough to repent for.
It really looks like so much fun Jodi. Happy for all of you.
I say go for the Christmas card! How often will you get all four of them looking so dang cute at the same time!?
I personally love the first picture of their backs. That is such a great picture. You need to turn it B&W, blow it up and frame it.
It looks like Mcall turned out to be gorgeous! I absolutely LOVE that he held your hand! What was the temp like? I hope it was better than ours.
Thanks for the idea Alicia. I think I will get that picture B&W and blow it up. I think it would look awesome!
georgeous pictures. I think you shoudl use it for your christmas card, especially if it is one ofyour most memorable vacations. So I am so proud of myseld I was able to identify each of you boys from the back of their heads. They each have such different ears. OK I am weird.
