August 4, 1995

Mick and I were married in the Portland Temple on August 4, 1995.
This is the photo that was published in the TC Herald announcing our marriage.
And this is where we spent our 13th wedding anniversary...

with our 4 boys and my brother's daughter and later on we met up with Mick's mom, dad, brother and his 3 daughters and 1 son, and ended up running into our friends the Nilsens with their 4 boys and 1 daughter. I know, I know, VERY romantic. It just happened that our anniversary was the best date for us to go. You know, now that I think about it - Mick and I spent our 3rd anniversary there too (we left baby Davis with my mom).

This is the first ride we went on...the new Aftershock roller coaster. It was Davis, Kyle, and Jake's first time ever on a roller coaster. Mick thought we should start them out with that, thinking get the scariest one overwith first. I don't know why I agreed because the whole time the ride was going I was so worried about what they must be thinking. Towards the end I was shouting to them, in between my screams, "It's almost over! It's almost over!" I "interviewed" them on video after it was over, but somehow it got deleted. Their expressions and comments were hilarious though!!

Then we went onto the next roller coaster and ALL of us went - including BENNETT! He was barely tall enough to go with an adult. Needless to say, he did not like it. He held my hand the whole time. In his "interview" after, he said, "I don't like the big hills." He was a good sport though. No crying or screaming.

And for some strange reason Kyle wanted to go on Panic Plunge and the waterslide that drops straight down. Too scary for me. So, Mick went with him. I was freaking out for them. Kyle was very excited! Mick was too at first. I think I'll let the video explain (listen closely at the end). It was the funniest thing ever!!

The operator told Mick, "That was the best response all day!" (and this was 10 minutes before closing). Everyone within earshot was laughing "with" him. It was HILARIOUS!!! The response was very real!! Anyway, with all the roller coasters, rides, waterpark and waterslides we had a great time and we can't wait to go again next year. Hopefully it won't be on our anniversary again. Or if it is, we can leave our kids behind. ;)

That WAS a funny response. I went to Silverwood on Friday but it seemed like all of the rides were malfunctioning so we didn't get to go on Aftershock or the Panic Plunge. After seeing people get stuck (forever) upside down on the Aftershock though, I don't think I would have gone even if they had fixed it in time.

Happy late anniversary! I think that's a fun way to spend it, and what's more romantic than listening to your husband scream in terror? Your wedding pictures are gorgeous!

You really are a brave family. When our family goes to an amusement park, I know we don't get our money's worth. We are a bunch of chickens!

Happy late anniversary!

Hopefully this week sometime you'll find some time for just the two of you.
My kids are totally excited about our trip on Thursday to Silverwood. I just showed them that video and now they can't wait.
You two are adorable newlyweds and even more adorable now.

Oh my goodness!! That was awesome! I've never seen the panic plunge before, even watching it got my adrenaline pumping. I'm surprised you were too scared to go on any rides, Miss Zipline! What a fun time, even if it was your anniversary.

OK, I watched the video 3 times and couldn't make out what he was saying. Maybe I just have bad hearing.

Happy Anniversary,I don't think there could be a better way to spend it than with family :)

Okay, Mick's not "saying" anything. He's just yelling REALLY loud. I was pretty far away videoing this to get the full height of the ride and you can still hear him.
