Momma's Boy

What can I say, my youngest is a big momma's boy. Which I love and enjoy, but today on his first day of preschool I was hoping he'd be ready for a little separation. When I woke him up this morning, the first thing he said was, "I don't want to go to preschool." And he continued saying that all the way to Miss Kim's.
~
Here's pictures of him crying on the kitchen floor before we left...so sad.

But as we pull into preschool, Bennett hops right out of the van and I'm thinking "YES! He's going to do it and have no problems." And he's still fine while I'm filling out the paperwork (standing right next to me though) so I'm still pretty hopeful. And Maddie was standing right next to him, staring and wanting to play and I know he thought about leaving my side, but was still a little unsure. Then I tell him goodbye and he says, "I'm scared" and starts crying. Miss Kim came over, took his hand and comforted him as I left.

When I picked him up after preschool he was so excited to show me the cool dinosaur book he checked out from the library and Miss Kim and Miss Diane said he only cried for probably 2 seconds after I left, which is was hoping for (thanks guys). I asked him what his favorite thing about preschool was and he said, "EATING!" Typical boy answer.

Bennett and Maddie hugged goodbye and I'm hoping next Tuesday will go even smoother!

Aren't they cute?

What a doll...sorry but I love the meltdown in the kitchen picture. Those will be a hoot when he is 17.

That picture of him crying is hilarious. Love his hair and love the picture of him saying good-bye to Maddie. Glad he was all smiles when you returned.

Ohh, that is SO sad. Love the fro-hawk, by the way. So trendy.

Also, love your layout. One of these days I am going to have to have someone help me make mine all cute and stuff.

Ahh...good old seperation anxiety. I am dealing with that right now too. Though London didn't make it through her first day. I am sure I will post about our experience when/if I get the chance.

Natalie spent a good deal of last year doing this every time preschool days came, but was always fine during and after class and never stops talking about how much she LOVES Miss Kim. It's just cause we're such amazing mommy's, they can't bear to leave our sides, right? Bennett looked super cute and proud of his new dinosaur book, I love that they get to check out their very own library book. It's one of Natalie's favorite parts.

Mattie so related to your 4th grade experience. Thanks Jodi. You are a doll.

Oh, that is the saddest picture I've ever seen! You want to laugh and cry at the same time! I love how happy he is at the end with Miss Kim and Miss Diane. They'll put a smile on those kids' faces every time. And Bennett and Maddie...I can see that picture blown up at their wedding reception!

Ha, ha. I love that as he's crying you have the wherewithal to capture the moment via photo! Love it. You really do forget how it is to be little and scared--hope school gets better and better for the little man!

Man, you have good looking boys! He is so cute! And I also love that blogger moms take pictures of their kids when they are crying first, comfort second! I have done this on several occasions too! I am sure he will love preschool, and drop off won't be soon enough for him.
