Okay, so our car accident wasn't bad enough to read this sign - but we were just in one. I was driving home from Davis and Jake's hair appointment and was TOTALLY re-ended at a RED light. When the light turned green, I slowly pulled over to the right lane and the car behind me followed. So then I pulled into the TRAC parking lot thinking they would follow me there too, but NOPE. They totally took off. I quickly turned around and tried catching up to them to get their license plate number while dialing 911 (which I totally spaced the new law of no talking on a cell phone while driving - oops). He turned on a side street and I ended up following the wrong car. The police got all of our information and told me and the boys to take some ibuprofen tonight and gave us a case number for insurance and went searching for him.
Anyway, the boys thought it was very exciting to be in an accident and couldn't wait to tell Kyle and Bennett about it. Me on the other hand, I'm having some pain in my upper back/shoulder (showing my age, I guess) and am VERY FRUSTRATED with dishonest people!!!! There isn't enough damage to the van for me to bother with insurance, so if the idiot would have followed me into the parking lot - I probably would have said, "Aw, don't worry about it." And that would be that. But he had to try and get away with it. Sorry, I'm just disappointed and needed to vent...

Oh, that infuriates me! I was hit and run in high school and it ticked me off. How can someone be so cruel and stupid? Hope your back is okay, glad the boys didn't get hurt. P.S. Being the daughter of an auto body man I've learned that although there might not be much damage you can see, there can be some you can't. Just for future reference.
That really stinks! If your back hurts now, it may be worse tomorrow. I'm also glad the boys weren't hurt.
Oh Jodi, this just stinks big time!! I've been in a few accidents, but no hit and runs. I can't believe you took off after him, that's awesome. I would have just sat there and started crying. :-) I hope you feel better, not worse, tomorrow.
That's just crazy, cuz I was just talking on the phone with you when you done with the hair cuts and filling up the car with gas. What an idiot. I can't believe he didn't stop to talk to you. Glad that your car isn't too damaged, and I hope your back doesn't hurt too long.
Yeah, I'm awake at 4 a.m. Porter is sick with a fever, so we are downstairs trying to pass some time. Fun huh?
What? That is horrible. You sure were trying to get them. What would you have done once you caught up to them? Citizens arrest. The boys would have loved that. I know you must be totally disheartened. I am so sorry Jodi.

What a jerk! That's too bad you couldn't catch up to him. I'm glad it wasn't any worse than it was.
What I meant by "atleast you were relaxed" was when I was in my car accident my senior year, I saw the car coming to hit me and I got all tensed up and braced myself for the hit. The dr.'s said my x-rays showed lots of blood pooling in the holes in my muscles from tensing up before the hit. But I forgot to tell you that part!

jodi, i'm sorry to hear about your accident. we had a hit and run last christmas (and the guys was in his 80's!)...good to know that you and the boys are whole. crazy stuff! the saddest part is that will eat at the back of their minds for the rest of their lives. those poor people. =( hope your back feels better soon.

That totally sucks! I can't believe they took off! And I can't believe you followed them! That is the best part of your story. I'm sure the boys think they have one awesome mom, tailing the jerk that hit you guys! Were they telling you to drive faster?

Hope your feeling better. Sorry about tonight. By the time I picked up Kylie, I think Jory had had enough of sitting around and we went out to dinner. It was nice. Thanks for putting the idea in his head.

Wow!! It's a good thing you weren't hurt seriously. I'd still visit a Chiropractor just in case, even little accidents can do big damage. Did the police find those guys? Very sad that they'd run like that. :(
