4th of July

(I can't believe I forgot my camera on the 4th of July. Thank goodness my wonderful sister-in-law brought hers and took some random pictures.)

On the 4th of July, my two older brothers and one of my sisters were visiting with their families for the holiday, so we had a big get together with them and us locals at our house for the traditional BBQ. After we filled our tummies, we headed over to the soccer fields by the baseball stadium for family activities. This is something we do every year and we always look forward to it. We played until we couldn't see anymore, then we find the perfect spot on the blankets to watch the fireworks overhead. It was a wonderful day/night!

Bennett LOVES listening to his MP3 player, so we decided he could take it. Plus it drowned out the loud fireworks -- which he still doesn't like.

I just love this picture she took of me and Bennett.
We played "Couples Tag" and I guess both Kyle and his cousin Macy were wanting Bennett to hook onto one of them so they could have a turn to run.

CUB SCOUT DAY CAMP

Jake and Kyle loved Cub Scout Day Camp - it was a great time to be with friends and Amy did an AWESOME job with the CSI theme.

CHANGES

Don't ask me why it takes me so long to give my boys haircuts...I always wonder myself when I look back at pictures of them. I can't believe how long Jake's hair was.

Jake's hair came off in "ringlets." Then there was Davis's hair...WAY too long. He finally agreed to letting me shave it for the summer. I was shocked.

He seriously has so much hair...look at the pile.

Here was my Mom's reaction when she saw him after his haircut.

He's pretty happy with it.

SCOUTING

Davis recently received his Arrow of Light, which is a big accomplishment for Cub Scouts. For those of you who don't know much about Scouts, it's the only award you can take from Cub Scouts into Boy Scouts. Here's a picture of Davis with his dedicated leader. Here's a picture of Davis crossing the bridge - representing leaving Weblos and entering into 11-year old scouts.

I'm so proud of him for all of his scouting accomplishments and hope he continues to enjoy his scouting experiences.

GARDEN

We decided to do a garden again this year and everytime Mick's out there working in it - Bennett's right along side him (whether he is dressed or not). Bennett loves watching the plants grow and takes just as much pride in our garden as Mick does. I love watching them work together and I can't wait to see what their work brings us!!

AGAIN...Sorry - Hopefully the Last Time

Well, Davis did it again (this time he crashed his bike on the road).
